Definition

The specific rules that determine when a validator's staked tokens get partially destroyed as punishment. Common slashing offenses include double-signing blocks, extended downtime, and submitting invalid proofs. Slashing makes attacks expensive and incentivizes validators to behave honestly and maintain good uptime.
