Slashing

A penalty where validators lose part of their staked tokens for misbehavior.

Definition

A penalty where validators lose part of their staked tokens for misbehavior. Going offline, double-signing, or other protocol violations can trigger slashing. It's how proof-of-stake networks punish bad actors.
