XRP Sits at $1.32 While Schwab Quietly Opens the Repo Door

XRP is stuck near $1.32. Boring tape, flat chart, no drama. But the news that actually matters this week didn't come from the chart at all.

A Schwab money market fund filing listed four XRP ETFs as eligible repo collateral. Read that again. Repo is the plumbing of Wall Street. It's where institutions pledge assets to borrow cash overnight, and getting on that list is a boring-sounding upgrade that changes who's allowed to hold the stuff.

And just like that, spot XRP ETFs went from a retail product to something a desk can post as collateral. That's a massive shift in utility. It doesn't move price today. It moves the ceiling on who can buy and why.

Price is still the price though. XRP has been pinned in a tight range since the ETF launches, with $1.25 acting as the floor buyers keep defending. Upside resistance sits around $1.45, and the $1.50 to $1.55 zone is the real wall. A daily close above $1.50 flips the structure bullish. Lose $1.25 and the next stop is likely $1.10.

Volume tells the same wishy-washy story. It's thin. Nobody's in a hurry.

Here's the wrinkle most traders are glossing over. Repo eligibility doesn't create demand on day one. It creates optionality. Funds and treasuries that couldn't touch a crypto ETF six months ago now have a reason to look, because the asset can do double duty as collateral. That's the kind of thing that shows up in flows three to six months later, not overnight.

When was the last time a spot crypto ETF could be pledged to borrow dollars? Exactly. Never.
