Uniswap Wallets Hit a 4-Year High While UNI Bleeds 25%. Something's Off.
UNI is down 25.75% in a month and sitting at $6.93. But Santiment just logged 2,295 new Uniswap wallets in a single day, the fastest clip since November 2022. Price and users are telling two very different stories.
JUST IN: Uniswap's price is bleeding. Its wallet count is ripping. Both things are happening at once, and that's the whole story.
UNI is down 25.75% over the past month and trading near $6.93. Ugly. Meanwhile Santiment counted 2,295 new UNI wallets in a single day. That's the fastest pace of fresh wallet creation since November 2022.
So which chart do you trust? That's the question traders are chewing on right now.
The Wallet Spike Nobody Priced In
November 2022 was the FTX crater. That's the last time new Uniswap wallets showed up this fast. Back then it was panic, people yanking tokens off exchanges and into self-custody. This time it looks different.
The timing lines up with Uniswap v4. The upgrade shipped in January 2025 with hooks, singleton contracts, and a massive drop in pool deployment costs. Spin up a new pool now and you're not staring down five figures in gas. That's a real unlock for small teams.
So people showed up. And they brought wallets.
Here's the thing though: a wallet isn't capital. A wallet is a click. Santiment flagged that caveat itself, saying the influx could firm up a price base only if wallet creation stays elevated. That "if" is carrying a lot of weight.
Price vs. Users
This is where I take a side. Network growth while price falls is usually a bullish tell, and I won't pretend otherwise. But there's a version of this chart that lies to you.
Wallet counts climb when airdrop farmers show up. They climb when a new interface makes it cheap to poke around. They climb when bots get spun up in batches of hundreds. None of that money sits on the books.
What I want is a second leg. Wallet creation holding above 1,500 to 2,000 a day for two or three straight weeks. v4 trading volume climbing next to it. Fee revenue actually moving instead of drifting sideways.
And a price chart that stops printing lower highs. UNI at $6.93 is a brutal drop from a month ago. One day of 2,295 wallets doesn't undo that.
So who wins here? Builders, mostly. Cheap pool deployment is a genuine unlock for teams that couldn't afford to compete before. Who loses? Anybody reading a single-day wallet spike as a buy signal.
What to Watch
One number matters most: daily new wallets. If it holds above 2,000 through the end of the month, the base thesis survives. If it fades back to a few hundred, toss the chart.
Then watch v4 pool counts and daily volume. And watch whether UNI reclaims $7.50 on real volume rather than a short squeeze.
Look, the fundamentals and the price are telling two different stories right now. Only one of them is made of money.
The market's verdict: users are arriving. Capital hasn't shown up yet. Those are two very different things, and the gap between them is where you either make money or donate it.
