Preconfirmation

A guarantee from a block proposer that a transaction will be included in a future block before it's actually confirmed.

Definition

A guarantee from a block proposer that a transaction will be included in a future block before it's actually confirmed. Preconfirmations can give users near-instant transaction certainty on Ethereum. Validators put up collateral that gets slashed if they break the preconfirmation promise.
