Blob Fee Market

A separate fee market for blob data introduced by EIP-4844 that operates independently from Ethereum's regular gas fee market.

Definition

A separate fee market for blob data introduced by EIP-4844 that operates independently from Ethereum's regular gas fee market. Blob fees have their own base fee that adjusts based on blob demand. This prevents data-heavy L2 transactions from competing with regular users for block space.
