Zero-Day Exploit

A previously unknown vulnerability that attackers discover and exploit before developers know it exists or can patch it.

Definition

A previously unknown vulnerability that attackers discover and exploit before developers know it exists or can patch it. In crypto, zero-day exploits in smart contracts can drain millions before anyone realizes what happened. This is why bug bounties and multiple audits are so important for DeFi protocols.
