Any attack that takes advantage of bugs or vulnerabilities in smart contract code.

Definition

Any attack that takes advantage of bugs or vulnerabilities in smart contract code. Common exploits include reentrancy attacks, integer overflows, logic errors, and access control flaws. Billions of dollars have been lost to smart contract exploits in DeFi. Audits help but don't guarantee safety.
