Priority Fee

An optional tip paid directly to validators on top of Ethereum's base fee to incentivize faster transaction inclusion.

Definition

An optional tip paid directly to validators on top of Ethereum's base fee to incentivize faster transaction inclusion. During high demand, transactions with higher priority fees get picked up first. Also called the miner tip (legacy term from pre-Merge Ethereum).
