Optimistic Rollup

A Layer 2 scaling solution that assumes all transactions are valid and only runs computation if someone challenges a transaction.

Definition

A Layer 2 scaling solution that assumes all transactions are valid and only runs computation if someone challenges a transaction. The 'optimistic' part means it trusts that transactions are honest unless proven otherwise. Arbitrum and Optimism are the two biggest optimistic rollups on Ethereum.
