ZK-Rollup

A Layer 2 scaling solution that bundles transactions off-chain and uses zero-knowledge proofs to verify them on the main chain.

Definition

A Layer 2 scaling solution that bundles transactions off-chain and uses zero-knowledge proofs to verify them on the main chain. Unlike optimistic rollups, ZK-rollups prove correctness immediately without a challenge period. zkSync, StarkNet, and Scroll are major ZK-rollup projects on Ethereum.
