Governance Token

A token that gives holders voting rights in a protocol's decision-making.

Definition

A token that gives holders voting rights in a protocol's decision-making. UNI, AAVE, and MKR are governance tokens. Some also share protocol revenue with holders, blurring the line between governance and equity.
