Appchain

A blockchain built specifically for a single application or use case, rather than being a general-purpose platform.

Definition

A blockchain built specifically for a single application or use case, rather than being a general-purpose platform. dYdX built its own appchain for trading, and many gaming projects run dedicated chains. Appchains offer customization and performance but sacrifice the composability of shared chains.
