An autonomous program that can perceive on-chain data, make decisions using machine learning models, and execute blockchain transactions without human intervention. Unlike simple trading bots that follow pre-programmed rules, AI agents adapt their strategies based on changing conditions. Key protocols building AI agents include Fetch.ai (ASI Alliance), Autonolas (OLAS), and Virtuals Protocol. AI agents are used for DeFi yield optimization, MEV extraction, keeper networks, and DAO governance automation.
