Actively Validated Service (AVS)

A service or protocol that uses EigenLayer's restaked ETH for its security instead of bootstrapping its own validator set.

Definition

A service or protocol that uses EigenLayer's restaked ETH for its security instead of bootstrapping its own validator set. Examples include oracle networks, bridges, and data availability layers built on EigenLayer. AVSs pay fees to restakers in exchange for economic security.
