Zero-Gas Transaction

Transactions where the user doesn't pay gas fees because someone else covers the cost.

Definition

Transactions where the user doesn't pay gas fees because someone else covers the cost. Protocols use meta-transactions or gas sponsorship to improve UX by abstracting away fees. Account abstraction and paymasters on L2s are making gasless interactions the norm for onboarding new users to Web3.
