Wormhole

A cross-chain messaging protocol that connects multiple blockchains including Ethereum, Solana, and Cosmos.

Definition

A cross-chain messaging protocol that connects multiple blockchains including Ethereum, Solana, and Cosmos. It suffered a $320 million exploit in 2022 when an attacker minted unauthorized wrapped ETH on Solana. Jump Trading covered the loss, and Wormhole later raised $225 million and launched the W token.
