Buying and selling the same asset simultaneously to artificially inflate trading volume.

Definition

Buying and selling the same asset simultaneously to artificially inflate trading volume. It makes a project look more popular and liquid than it actually is. NFT platforms and small exchanges are notorious for wash trading, and it's illegal in regulated markets.
