Transactions or data stored outside the main blockchain.

Definition

Transactions or data stored outside the main blockchain. Off-chain solutions reduce fees and increase speed by handling things elsewhere, then settling periodically on-chain. Layer 2s and sidechains are off-chain scaling approaches.
