Nonce

A number used once in cryptographic operations.

Definition

A number used once in cryptographic operations. In Bitcoin mining, miners try different nonces until they find one that produces a valid block hash. In Ethereum transactions, the nonce prevents replay attacks by ensuring each transaction is unique.
