Moving Average

An indicator that smooths out price data by calculating the average price over a specific period.

Definition

An indicator that smooths out price data by calculating the average price over a specific period. The 50-day and 200-day moving averages are the most popular. When price is above its moving average, the trend is generally bullish. When it's below, bearish.
