Gas War

When many people try to execute transactions at the same time, bidding up gas fees to get their transaction included first.

Definition

When many people try to execute transactions at the same time, bidding up gas fees to get their transaction included first. This commonly happens during popular NFT mints, token launches, and airdrop claims. Gas wars on Ethereum have pushed single transaction fees to hundreds of dollars.
